Popups in NYC: Tony's Chocoloney

Astor Place in Greenwich Village hosted a fun and sweet popup on Thursday, April 3, 2025

Greenwich Village is one of the most quaint areas on NYC- mostly low rise buildings, lots of college students, and charm abounds. The open area in Astor Place hosted a popup for Tony’s Chocoloney. If you haven’t had Tony’s Chocolate, it’s absolutely delicious but also has a focus on making the chocolate they make more sustainable and kind to workers. Mr. Beast consulted with Tony’s while making his chocolate brand “Feastables”.

The most enormous chocolate bar ever (and a great photo op)!

On Thursday, they held an awesome popup to just share chocolate and love with NYC. The line was substantial- it took about an hour to get through but the gave us chocolate along the way and we got a token for prizes. I have no idea how the tokens work or if they just handed us what they felt like when we got to the front but I got a large and small chocolate bar and a handful of individual chocolate bites. They were delicious and I shared them with people all day.

So kind and so much chocolate!!

So… are pop ups worth it? It depends on how much time you have, how much you dig the brand, and if you enjoy the experiences. If you’re a tourist in NYC for just a few days, I’d say to skip it- your investments in the expense of a limited visit probably don’t make a free chocolate bar worth it. Even a very good one!

But if you’re here longer or it just looks fun or you’re passionate about a cause, then definitely check them out! We’re going to start listing them in our weekly roundup and on our site.

Tony has a very cool truck!

The folks working the event were so kind and patient and kept the line moving and peaceful. More ways NYC Loves You: pop-ups!
